Fishing is
both a recreational activity and sport - even a career for some. Many fishing
techniques and methods vary depending on where you fish and what you fish. Live
bait is used for a broad range of fishing situations and is a great option, but
can be difficult to use correctly. Here's a guide on how to use live bait for
fishing.
Instructions:
Buy live
bait in the morning you plan to go fishing. You want the bait to be still live
and swimming, so be careful when you tell the store owner what you want. Choose
a simple fish like shad, which are easy to take care of and are a staple in the
diet of much larger fish.
2 Fill the
bait tank with fresh water. In the summer, it helps to freeze a 2-liter plastic
bottle with water and put it in the tank to keep the water temperature cool and
pleasant. Add 1/2 cup of non-iodized salt to every 10 gallons of water. This
will help keep hard fish flakes and their new coat.
3 Put the
fish in the tank and went to a fishing day. Set your pole as you normally
would, but be sure to examine the size of the hooks you use. You want to use
hooks that are smaller than the bait you have to fish with. If you use too
large of a hook, the bait will not be able to swim freely. But then too small
of a hook will not keep the fish in the hook and line, so it needs a medium
term.
4 Wet hands
before collecting fish. This will protect the silt in fish that contains scents
that attract bigger fish and keep the bait alive longer. Dry the hands can also
remove the scales and damage the bait.
5 Hook the
bait through the mouth and behind the gills. This will ensure that the bait
stays on the hook and give the fish to swim full motion, thereby attracting
larger fish to eat it.
Handle fish
with bare and moist hands.
Do not hook
your bait through your eyes; you will likely fall and be wasted bait.
